BASKETBALL ! i loveeeeee basketball :D up a small hill where i was able to see the nice sunset . it's very mesmerizing . enjoy the gentle breeze too . daniel cycled me home, thanks :D it not i'd be late again -.- sembawang shopping centre ; once for groceries shopping, once i went with my sis and her friends . new york new york . yummy ! but will get sick after eating half of it . so JACK'S PLACE IS STILL BETTER (: & cheaper ! slacked around with my sis's friends and we did: 1. chatted with an "in" auntie for 2 hours o.o lol . while queuing up . 2. went subway ! NICE & HEALTHY . i finally know why cheayee likes subway so much . haha . 3. japanese restaurant to have salads and ice-creams, yums (: 4. did manicure and the colour is niceeeeeeeeee :D accompanied emmanuel to get his friend's birthday present . & trying to search for someone's present too . emmanuel is persuading me to attend church . haha . School Heroes @ NorthWest YLC8 (Young Leader Committee 8)'s signature project, i could say it was quite a success . let me recall what happened these few days . i was helping for the event on thursday . brief the volunteers forthe actual day . Indah, Adam and Shi Hui from YLC7 are my volunteers for the game puzzle ! :D they're my senior and they're nice . haha . after all the briefings and stuffs, met my bro to watch 2012, since he had been bugging me to watch movie with him since last week . i'm such a great sis right ? haha :D as usual, me and my brother were snatching over popcorns (thou' we bought the large one) . & it finished within 30 minutes . i could say 2012's animation is really real . quite boring at the start and it was very exciting and touching in the middle till the end . & i didn't cry, haha . i'd rate it 4.5/5 (: i've work yesterday & stomach cramp ! ): rained at 3pm plus so me & jiasheng were like some weirdos, holding a cardboard each and it would be our umbrella from the school to mrt station . all the passer-bys were looking at us in a funny expression . lol . today, woke at 6am . & i'm like super sian cos i still want my beauty sleep ! D: reached greenridge sec at 7.30am . started all the preparations and were quite sian :X my volunteers came super early and we chatted & chatted . ha (: tong jun came too ! what happenned next .. oh the kids & parents started to come in . soon, more and more came . we've to control the crowds . it was quite messy as there were no chairs for parents to sit ! last minute got the chairs lined for parents . the kids were assigned to the groups and were glad that the volunteers took the initiative to talk to the kids (: then i'm like some siao gina, saying hi-s to every kids that i saw, asking for their names and telling them my names ! haha :D there were also some tough situations where the kids were emo and refused to talk . i met a girl called Mei Hui, she looked very sad at first, then i started to talk to her & she still kept quiet . i took her to her mum and back soon after . i talked to her again and said she looks nice when she smile and ask her to smile, & she did smiled ! :D took her picture and showed her . haha . soon we started to talk deeper, about her family, siblings and her primary school . haha . in the end of the day, many kids saw me would like wave and say hi to me ! :D heh . cos i'm like introducing myself to them at the beginning of the day, if they didn't respond to my first "hi", i would keep hi-ing until they respond ! haha (: & i did a great deed too ! helped a pregnant woman :D she kept thanked me, & the feeling of being appreciated is nice (: haha . i shall help people often :D lazy to elaborate on what happenned (: one phrase: 助人为快乐之本 (: i was so shocked to see weisheng -.- LOL . he was shocked too . 冤家路窄 lol . only ate 1/2 of the lunch packet, not nice . then have popcorns ! there were popcorns and candyfloss stands set up for the kids . out of the blue, there was a kid asking if i recognise him . then i'm like, you looks familiar . he then said he was from qihua primary, met him at qihua mentoring . ha (: it was magic show next ! the magic show made the kids went high ! it was difficult to control the kids and get them to sit properly . then there were balloons giving off, all the kids were like bees, just dash to get the balloons . like omg lah o.o have a tough time controlling . it was time to give the school heroes kit to the kids . it contained vouchers, waterbottle, file & school bag etc, worth of $110 . meanwhile, i was at the backstage sculpting balloons ! :D weisheng taught me how to sculpt a sword, which is the easiest -.- but it was a good start :D lol, 自我安慰. ha (: but i didn't know how to tie the balloon after pumping air . lol . so weisheng had to help me everytime . heh . then weisheng was there talking about peanut again -.- like, it's the most usual stuff he'd say whenever he sees me . and the event finally, finished ! cleaned up the areas and have debrief . everyone had to give a 30 seconds speech, and i think mine was a bit negative/neutral :X cos that time not really happy, don't know why -.- 300 + food packets left so carried it to the nearby mosque . went to northpoint to have dinner . 新旺茶餐厅 the food was not bad (: & chea yee ate super fast . ha . jarain treated 6 of us for dinner, thanks (: took mrt and walked home with chea yee . chatted quite a lot, have a better understanding of her, ha (: overall, THE KIDS WERE CUTE, ADORABLE ! and i've made a lot of new friends ! not to forget, learnt alot of new things from it (: from every events/activities we have attended or organised, there would sure be something that you would carry it with you for your whole life, not just doing it for the sake of CIP hours, but the memories and the different learning processes/experiences . it is a matter of how memorable the events/activities are and how much you've learnt . & i could say from this event, from the preparations and the actual event day, i've benefitted quite a lot (: thou' it was not of much proposals like what it always is, but a lot of adaptations and changes according to the environments/situations were required . and how to open myself to people whom i never met before and communicate effectively with them (: thou' the event is not perfect and 100% successful, but at least we've reached our goal: the kids have fun and able to get them new shoes, new bags, new school uniforms . so, whatever mistakes and imperfections, were just .. forgivable ! of course, i'll learn from all the mistakes too . shall upload the photos next time ! Friday, November 27, 2009 \| 11:01:00 PM \| Top i had meeting yesterday all the way from 2pm to 6pm . today is the girls day out with belle, weijia, shiru (: they're my loves :D before that, i went to support daniel's group for basketball match . i stood far away from the basketball court, didn't dare to go near . i've this stranger feeling :/ then met with belle and weijia . i'm 高人一等 cos i wore high heels, they looked so short :D or maybe that only applies to shiru ? (or weijia, haha) belle's still tall -.- (but i'm taller, really :D) we decided to watch The Twilight Saga New Moon ! it was a 3pm show and we've plenty of time to waste (: we have our lunch at macs . my mcwings was nice :DDDD the four of us were crappy and noisy until people around us were staring at us o.o lol, blame that crazy shiru :/ we talked a lot, a lot :D it was such a good time to catch up and we haven't meet for 4 months already ! i mean, never meet shiru . we walked around cwp and our foots were pain, mainly reasons due to our shoes :/ (weijia and belle are wearing covered lady shoes) the movie was nice ! i'd rate it 4/5 (: i kept asking belle who's this and that, why they did this and that during movie, hope she didn't get irritated by me . haha . & it was freaking cold inside the cinema D: overall, i have an enjoyable time with my loves ! ha (: & with them, i can forget all my unhappiness ! P/S: angweijia owns me an love letter :D 2 months passed, time flies . i am still finding, hoping for a miracle . or maybe i'm too naive to believe . Wednesday, November 25, 2009 \| 11:10:00 PM \| Top from time to time, i'll still remember .. anyway, working these few days . 1. love the food there (wanton noodle & fried wanton)! it's really delicious . 2. learnt some "skills", as in how to be more organised and interact with people . 3. shirley is a really big sotong & always late :p 4. emmanuel is a faithful christian and he attends the same church as me ! - speedlight . 5. tops in cotton on is nice ! 6. me and shirley can eat alotttttt . whoo, activities lining up for me . i'll be even busier next week as School Heroes @ NorthWest will be held on 5 Dec (Sat) !
